MISSING OSBORN ART STUDENT STILL UNACCOUNTED FOR
BERRYSVILLE, PA — The search continues for 19-year-old Osborn School of Art student Stella McCarthy, who was reported missing nearly three weeks ago. Despite exhaustive efforts by the Berryville Police Department, including ground searches, interviews with classmates, and review of campus surveillance footage, investigators say there has been “no significant trace” of the young artist’s whereabouts.
McCarthy, a sophomore film and media major, was last seen entering her dormitory on the evening of March 14. Friends reported she seemed “uneasy” in the days leading up to her disappearance, though the reason remains unclear.
The case has reignited long-standing rumors about a room on the third floor of one of Osborn’s residence halls—the same floor where McCarthy lived. Whispers of strange occurrences in that building date back nearly a century, including a little-known 1930s account of a local priest summoned to the dormitory to perform an unspecified “ritual.” While the school has repeatedly dismissed such tales as unfounded superstition, McCarthy’s disappearance has cast a deep and unsettling shadow over the campus, leaving many to wonder if the past is far less distant than it seems.
Authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Berryville Police tip line immediately.
